Rich A$$ Parents, Give A F*ck ‘Bout Admissions: The College Admissions Scam

March 13, 2019

“Rich ass parents give a fuck ’bout admissions, Big Birkin Bag, Paid 5, 6 figures.”

Whew Chile, it’s been a sad couple of days in the affluent white neighborhoods of California and elsewhere. The “largest” College Scam, being acted on, was taken down on Tuesday. A couple of TV’s white mom’s, Full House’s, Lori Loughlin and Desperate Housewives’s, Felicity Huffman were at the forefront. It took place spanning from 2011 to 2019. The Head honcho of this, oversimplified scheme, is William Rick Singer, the founder of Edge College and Career Network also known as “The Key.” Arrests have been made for over 50 people including parents, coaches, test proctors, and admissions officers. These students attended Yale, Stanford, USC, Georgetown and others. Forging fake athletic careers, proctors changing SAT answers, and so much more; this was a full out operation.

Read how he describes himself and what the company does:

“Being a father and coach, I’ve seen the stress that the college admissions process can put on a family. As founder of The Key, I have spent the past 25 years helping students discover their life passion, and guiding them along with their families through the complex college admissions maze.  Using The Key method, our coaches help unlock the full potential of your son or daughter, and set them on a course to excel in life.” (Check out The Key’s Website here)

#FreeJT

My thing is, they need to free JT because she was only claiming her reparations. She was fighting a system that wants to see our people lose and live a poor life. As much as we’ve gone through, sis felt that she deserved a higher quality of life than the system was allowing her and her family to have. Which she deserves. Can you blame her? There would be no scamming on our ends if we weren’t scammed and discriminated against in the first place. These affluent white people have never had to fight for their life against the system. JT is a freedom fighter. These people are the true criminals. They’re just lazy and their kids aren’t smart. So technically, they should be in jail not JT. Truly a damn shame. Therefore, free my dawg until it’s backwards. #Period

Full House actress, Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying out $500,000 for their daughter to go to USC. They did all of this just for her to go on her YouTube channel to say “She doesn’t really care about school.” A Joke!

You all can read more about the story on CNN.

This tweet summed up my sentiments about this entire case.

It’s a shame that we, as people of color, have barrier after barrier placed in front of us and are still expected to get ahead in the process. Yet these affluent families, with access and every resource for quality education, still bribe and cut corners in the process. There is no excuse that your kid can’t get into these schools when you head the privilege to create a fucking brainiac from age one with special tutors, programs and disciplines. And it’s annoying for the news to act like this is such a HUGE scandal when this is just every day life in white America, and has been that way for ages.  The scheme was so basic and simple that it just shows how easy it was for anyone with connections, money and white skin to by pass the system. I’m surprised this is even being taken down. Guess they pissed of the right one…The IRS.

Just remember that they put Black parents in jail and hit them with exuberant fines for simply wanting a quality education for their babies. My single mom, living in the hood, went out of her way to make sure that I had a quality education my whole life. IT WAS NOT EASY. Society paints this narrative that black people don’t want the best for their children when it is the exact fucking opposite. There are parents sacrificing their livelihoods to help their kids make it because they don’t have the privilege of a quality education where they live.

Therefore, put these #CollegeCheatingScandal parents and officials under the jail where they belong and set these women free.

P.S. I also have a great disdain for people like Megan McCain. She’s just stupid.

All you can do is laugh to keep from crying sometimes. I remember this news host said this young black boy was being obnoxious for his acceptance into 20 colleges.

Or remember when this young lady had her SAT scores invalidated because they said that her scores were too high… #Racism

Let’s shake the table right quick…

My Asian classmate at Columbia University told me, “Yeah, we just apply and we get in. It’s a known thing.” Money can definitely buy you an education especially for many affluent families in China. Columbia has a large number of Asians from inside and outside of the US who attend every year. I mean I had never seen an American School with seemingly almost an Asian majority. I swear I’m not lying.

Let’s not forget when an asian man tried to blame Black and Latino admissions on CNN, for the reason that asian students were not getting into Harvard. #funny #ok

Remember people, these schools are businesses with the personas and heir of prestige for sale. So I swear this is not even close to the only or last of this case.  We see it in different forms everyday.

This is just the age, old tale of privilege thinking that they are above the law. They’ll probably get off too. The only reason they were found out was because you can’t cheat the IRS for too long. Black people are still going to have to work twice as hard with little to no gatekeepers. Stuff like this will still happen in this system built on the foundation of white privilege.

Keep working hard guys. Because God sees the work you put in and the talent you have. Some people may be afforded seats at the table that they do not deserve but that’s just life. It’s ok. Keep your horse blinders on and that focus steady because the opportunities afforded to you will come and be better than any door that was closed in your face.
