I went to an Aunt Mary concert Sunday night. And you just never know fun until you go to a concert for people who are 40 and up. It’s amazing and the vibe is always right. I know I’m in the right building when I see no less than two white linen suits with Kangols when I’m in the parking lot, matching couples over the age of 47 and the distant sounds of “Heyyyyy, this my is jam!”
But the real spiritual part of the Mary J. Blidge concerts is that she really be speaking that real. We not gone cry no more. We’re just Fine with no hateration in this dancerie.
“Don’t need no hateration, holleration In this dancerie.” I interpret that in two ways, one being “Your body” aka this dancerie is a temple and any negative energy (hateration, holleration) is toxic and needs to be dispelled. Or “Let go of the hurt, to allow good vibes to flow.”
Listen, this morning if you are allowing the past to hurt you, give yourself a break. But I want you to feel it, cuss that girl called the Past out and work on things that will help you improve what you are feeling. I think I saw on Twitter or Instagram where self awareness is a sign of self love. But it truly is, because when you are self aware, you see directly how to improve and move forward.
Also speaking of the past, my bestie Khalia (Check out her her Soundcloud because she is the best DJ out) told me that there was a eclipse happening. With this eclipse there are anxieties and stress from the past that come in to play but it is all ok.
You often hear letting go a lot but it may be hard to implement it on a practical level. Letting go is always an action. It doesn’t have to be with just people, but with your thoughts and fears.

I’m actually going to introduce a bit of Stranger Things (first and second season) logic to this article. (By the way, the Stranger Things has been putting me in my feelings. I’m on episode 5 of the the third season. It’s sad that Billy is so fine yet so evil. But I knew his ass was ever possessed or racist. I couldn’t choose lmfao)
For many of you who watch Stranger Things, you know what the Upside Down is. It’s an alternate, scary universe where the Demogorgon monster lives. So by this, I mean acknowledging the hurt or the ugly parts of you. That’s the first part of healing.
Don’t let that hate steal your joy. Figure out where it’s stemming from. Personally, my hate stems from hurt, a little lack of self love and an unhealthy sense of competition . (Whew Chile, sounds bad but we all deal with it.) Do I have super low self esteem? Well, no. But do I look at others sometimes and think, “Wow, I wish I could be like them.” Or saying “That was ok!” to something that was phenomenal because it’s not you. Or worst, have you ever witnessed someone that hurt you prosper and your situation is not the best? Your first reaction is always “Ew” or “God why are they prospering and I’m here struggling?” But you can’t compare yourself, foreal.
I’ve always been like that.
Put pressure to your problems and work on letting the hurt go! It’s not easy but it’s possible. I’m still working on myself. I’m forgiving people who have hurt me. I’m actively working on self love and moving with intention. One of my favorite bible verses is Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” When you renew your mind and clear your heart, you’re better able to connect with the Source. (God).
Now go and have a productive day! Meditate and don’t give negative things your energy.
